1ROOM. MANY WAYS. I have said this many times: a neutral room can sing a different song every day, if only you accessorize! Take a look at the dining room on our Summer home. I chose this table because it is very neutral, chic, and absolutely indestructible! It wipes clean in two seconds and never is marred by any ring marks or stains. For those reasons alone, I love this table. I also used this table in our more sophisticted PARK AVENUE FLAT (see VOL 01). Isn't it amazing how different the same table looks in such a different settings with different chairs?

Summer is about easy breezy living, and it is also a great time to entertain. I love summertime lunch parties where I pull out the nice china. In this room, we did that alot, but there were also many days when there were at least three kids in a high chair or booster seat with dirty hands and plasticware. I love a room can hold it's own with either guest list—with mannered hands or little fingers covered in spaghetti sauce! It's all about the people, after all.
